Racial Health Disparities
Requiring Lifestyle Changes

Approximately 12 % of Black Americans have diabetes compared to 7.5% of White Americans. Diabetes is a common cause of kidney disease.

Black people are at 3-4 times higher risk of developing kidney failure compared to Whites and are at higher risk of death from kidney disease.

Black Americans have higher rates of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and are 30 percent more likely to die from strokes and heart disease than whites.

Studies show that Black Americans are
more likely to experience diabetes-related disabilities like blindness, amputations, and kidney failure.
